Career pivot
After 5 years as an architect, I decided to challenge myself and change career for something that really excites me. In 2010, I sold all my belongings, bought a one-way flight ticket from my Belgian home-country to Australia.

I used the skills I learned managing architecture construction projects in the tech industry. I worked as an employee, a startup founder, and a tech consultant.

Hackathons
At Radio Free Europe, I organized 4 events around the theme of Internet Freedom. The format was a hybrid between a conference and a hackathon. Speakers from the John Hopkins, Google, BBC, Wikimedia, Time, Bellingcat, and Microsoft shared their knowledge with the hackers (journalists, coders and designers) to build technology solutions in support for Internet Freedom.

I designed and executed 5 green technology startup bootcamps for the World Bank and the Caribbean Climate Innovation Center in Jamaica, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, and a follow-up accelerator in Jamaica.

I took the leap and co-founded one startup in London, UK that empowers entrepreneurship with the use of technology, and another one in Singapore that empowers creators to get their work reach a global audience. We took MAQTOOB to Google Oxygen startup accelerator in London.
